Our mission has always been simple: grow great weed and keep it affordable. In many ways, the expansion of the legal industry challenged us to do better, including growing better bud. So to improve our grow, we went back to our roots and asked our plants what they want.
Our plants said they were tired of always being asked, “Where’s the weed?” but never “How’s the weed?” Our new ops boss, Brian, and his expert cultivation team at Dime Bag’s farm, listened.

They are the seasoned operations specialists and cultivators behind Dime Bag’s enormous, colorful, sticky, hairy, high potency buds. They surround Brian as he explains the farm’s new irrigation improvements, genetic and soil experiments, greenhouse upgrades, and tried and true “old school” style de-leafing methods that have all helped reconnect Dime Bag to our purpose.
As soon as Brian joined the farm, he got to work assembling a superstar management team. Brian modestly describes himself as “just the guy who puts it all together.” He gives his trio of industry pros and the rest of the staff all the credit.
Those industry pros are Ian, nursery manager; Juan, flowering manager; and Eric, greenhouse expert. The team has an impressive combined 75+ years of growing experience, with Eric’s family farming in California since 1862!
“We put the soul back in Dime Bag,” Brian says with an accomplished smile, referring to the fantastic yield our plants now reliably produce. But soul is something that Dime Bag has never lacked.
The farm’s home is a humble agricultural community where honest people work hard. The dirt road that leads you there is deeply pot-holed (no pun intended); you wouldn’t find it by accident. The farm office is decorated with awards and shared with a gang of cats, including Catt Williams, who has a permanent bed inside.
Everyone is dressed casual; cannabis culture’s uniform is ‘come as you are.’ In the parking lot, a truck is whimsically covered in toys and action figures. Even the air is misty, magical and smells delicious.

Many of the diverse staff have been there since the farm opened in 2018. Ian was one of the original team. After 8 years, he’s elated to be back at the farm. “We’re a motley crew,” he says of the new team, which represents a variety of backgrounds and ages; “We have fun.”
Eric also made his way back, originally from San Joaquin and Humboldt County before eventually going to Florida, where he met Brian, a lifelong traveler. When Brian’s next move was to California at Dime Bag, he called Eric to join him in our greenhouses. Eric didn’t hesitate.
The two of them hand-picked (also no pun intended) Ian and Juan from their applicants. “I knew Ian would be the right fit for the nursery,” Eric writes, referring to Ian as one of his own mentors. “His experience in greenhouses and cannabis is next level. Juan is another colleague I previously worked with. I knew he would be a great asset to the farm.”
The farm itself is massive: dozens of acres of land and a looming row of huge industrial greenhouses. Inside the greenhouses are thousands of cannabis plants in various stages of grow. This is no small operation.
Between endless rows, dedicated staff meticulously and professionally care for the plants as they run tests, track levels, outputs, waste, and more. “I love being with the plants,” Ian says. “I love reading the stats, the science of experimentation and applying the methodology to know you’re getting real results.” His wisdom as nursery manager is applied to propagation, soil, seeds, genetics — everything you can think of to grow mind-blowingly good weed on purpose.
Juan’s role as flower manager spans climate control, genetic studies, nutrient tracking, light distribution and defoliation. He has expertly refined systems to better reset the greenhouses between cycles and seamlessly receive plants from the nursery.
His improved light distribution, canopy configuration, and de-leafing program, to name just a few things, are all essential to nurturing the young plants Ian hands off into big, beautiful, potent, high-quality flowers.

Ian, a published scientific journalist with a research background, explains all this over the phone, because he has taken the day off to go surfing. Back in the greenhouse, Brian sums it all up beautifully: “We’re weed people.”
The proof is in the product. Thanks to this team and their combined expertise, the cannabis flower we’re growing for Dime Bag today is a ganja lover’s dream. Each of the team’s own story, ideas and passion are infused in every bag, pre-roll, or vape.
Dime Bag cannabis is grown and made with love, wisdom, and respect by real people passionate about cannabis and cannabis culture. Since Brian and the team joined our farm, our buds have gone from big to bigger and from good to better.
Your cannabis is in great hands.
The soul of Dime Bag never left the farm, but it IS back in the bag. You can see it, smell it, taste it, grind it, smoke it, and feel it. Let us know what you think at @ogdimebag!
